trying to print up many images, the red keeps dwindling out and the yellow takes over. we have cleaned the printer head, the ink tanks, . every time we clean it, the red works for just a part of the image, then the yellow takes over.

doing a color test, it is one bar of blue, one bar of black and2 bars of yellow.

all the colors are fairly new, the red is full..any ideas??

it is a canon MX890. never had this problem before unless the color was empty.

Sorry your having a hard time with the red and the printing.  I have no idea either.  I can only think it is either a clog within the ink itself or the printer itself.  You should get a magenta bar and obviously you are not.

It took a long time and a lot of ink but the images got done. very costly, though.

Oh Thank God!  By the way, what brand of ink do you use? AND Did you ever figure out what the problem was?
