What Kind Of Icing Can I Use Instead?

I am making gift baskets and my friend saw this picture: https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/v/3622_10201846596879400_2025651034_n.jpg?oh=77c3a14eaa9f3d2d273737f463228dbc&oe=52AA26A6
And was wondering if I can include it in hers. However, I make everything eggless and this looks like royal icing. Does anyone have any ideas/recipes that can create this type of effect. Would buttercream work in this case?
Ayou can make royal icing with no eggs. So many recipes. I have done just icing sugar and water. I dont know if i could get all those smooth results with buttercream, but maybe the lines and dots.
AGod everyone gets so mad at me cause I dont know what ratios i use. I just know what its suppose to look like and alternate till i get it. But im sure searching it will give you the ratios.

Oh yeah, I saw some really furious responses, I was like, WHOA when I saw that one that was dripping with hate "Would that even stick to an apple's skin?" I mean, back the truck up! How dare Brandi say that to someone? I am seriously appalled.
O.o
And ellavanilla, I won't even go there with all that anger in your response to try to use candy melts. SMH. I mean, how dare you?
Yay!!! I googled it and it worked wonderfully: http://lovepeacehapiness.wordpress.com/2013/10/30/vegan-royal-icing-eggless/
Here recipe was a good consistency for the flooding and I just added more powdered sugar for decorations.
I experimented using it on an orange (I didn't have an apple) and it works great (:
