Hi everyone, i need to make a jacuzzi cake, with people sitting in. The water should be made from sparkling wine with gelatin. Jacuzzi have to be covered with fondant. I am afraid, that jelly will melt my fondant and figurines. Any suggestions, how to make it properly? Thank you!!

I think you should use piping gel, tinted blue...

When I was preparing to make a pool cake, I experimented with blue jello...it slowly melted my fondant pieces...

AThanks for your advice! Never used piping gel. How does it taste? The idea is to make cake with sparkling wine and the"water" shouls be made from sparkling wine also..

AI have no clue how the gelatin would do with the fondant, let alone your cake.

I would also recommend using some marbled blue fondant, lightly covered with piping gel. There isn't much of a taste to it.

Are the people plastic figures, or are you modeling them yourself?

If they are modeled figures, you wouldn't' have to actually fill it with a gelatin, which I think would be devastating to your cake! You can make the illusion of the water with tinted piping gel and stick the tops of the figures in the water…just waste up, head, up, etc...

I would never fill a cake with gelatin. I think the only way you could get away with it is if you put it in a plastic bowl you could set inside the cake so none of it actually comes in contact with the cake itself. That may be the solution!
