I recently did this piece for my dad in honor of him finishing Ironman Augusta. Although I wasn't able to finish the bike helmet cake (I did it for Thanksgiving centerpiece) I managed to complete everything else. The medal, Garmin watch and the goggles are all fondant with tylose-no so much worried about them. The running shoe, however, is rice krispy cereal covered with ganache then fondant. Is there a way to "preserve" the running shoe so it will keep but not attract critters??

Thanks in advance!!

APlace them in a dry, cool, dust free (like a cake box) area, out of direct sunlight. How long until you plan on using it? Is anyone going to eat the shoe?

That's a fantastic accomplishment! It will mean so much to him I imagine. You can put the shoe in a box, then a bag and stick it in the fridge, I'd just be worried about those colors bleeding.

AThank you, were very proud of,him. Well. I've already given it to him and he loved it. So , he just wants to keep it. So I think well try and find a clear display box of some sort to put it,in.
