My mom wants me to make a cannoli cake for her Christmas party, but it has a whipped cream frosting.  Is it possible to put gum paste decorations on top of the whipped cream frosting?  (she wants holly.)

I have always used buttercream due to the CFL, so I have no experience with the whipped cream frosting.  Any other suggestions for frosting on a cannoli cake?  Should I used ganache?

If you lived nearby to me Mimi, I would!  I think I will see how the gum paste is on whipped cream…I can always take the decorations off.
