AHi, I have been mainly baking cakes from boxes. I have tried a few different from scratch recipes and they are either not moist enough or they are crumbly. I have tried adjusting the baking time incase it was overbaked and so on and i am not happy with the end product. I really want to take a basic cake baking class but have not even able to find one online. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
AI looked on their website. I didn't find any with basic baking of cakes. Also, since I have a 3 month old baby, I can't do evening classes. So I was hoping for daytime classes. It doesn't matter weekend or weekday.
Hello sdoc12. I don't think you looked long enough on the ICE Website. I just checked the ICE Recreational Website. They have a Techniques of Cake Baking 1 & 2 starting on 1/6/14 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. You can just take 1 of the courses if you don't have the time to take both. There is also another class Two Day Cake Baking that starts 1/4/14 at 10:00 AM. You can also check out the Sur La Table website. They have locations in NJ and NY. There prices are cheaper and the classes are shorter. You get what you pay for. Also you say you looked for on-line baking classes. There are a ton out there. Sharon Zambito has an on-line school, Craftsy has on-line baking classes, etc. Good luck!
AThanks a lot. I'll check out the ice website again as you stated. I would definitely rather do an in person class over an online one. I'll check sur la table as well. Thanks again.
