I looked at the old threads on how to price 3D cakes, but they are so old. I am in the process of giving a bride a quote for a grooms cake and a wedding cake and want to be sure I'm not short changing myself!

She wants a 3D Nascar cake for the grooms cake.

How do you charge for a carved cake? I have never done one. I have a TON of time to prepare if she wants me to make it and have taken some classes on carving. I have done simple shapes, but know this will take a lot more time. 

Of course, this bride wants to keep her budget "small" for cakes because they are paying for the wedding themselves. I'm not even sure if she will even want to pay for my wedding cake, but this will be good advice for any future inquiries!
