AI know there are like a million posts about this but now I'm so confused!

I'm going to make a birthday cake with fondant & I was thinking I'd make a pound cake unless you have any other suggestions I just need a recipe for BC for under the fondant (not sure if I can get powdered dream whip)

( I have only made a "fake cake with fake BC")

Thanks in advance!

You can use any buttercream under fondant. Just pick your favorite! (I have never made it with Dream Whip, so I'm not sure what recipe you are using.)

American buttercream, swiss meringue, italian meringue...even ganache can be used.

Amfegan okay thank you! I don't know that recipe either but a lot of posts on here say that.

Thanks again!

AYou're thinking of Indydebi's buttercream recipe. I wouldn't use that with a pound cake. Pound cake is really rich with buttercream on top, but I don't mind that!
