AHi experts Recently with the last 2 cakes I've done (one buttercream 2 tiered) and the other one fondant (1 tier), that they are slanted after sitting overnight. I finished them both yesterday, let them sit overnight and this morning, they aren't straight anymore. I covered the fondant cake when it was chilled. Should it have been room temp before covering? How do I "settle" a cake before putting fondant on to ensure a straight and level cake in the end? Help!

I usually let a cake sit till cool and then freeze or chill overnight before covering with buttercream and fondant. This helps the cake to settle, Ive never had any issues. You may also want to make sure you have a pretty firm cake recipe to start. Hope this helps.

ADo you let your cake come to room temp before applying the fondant?

I never cover a cake with fondant the same day I bake it. I either freeze it or put it in the fridge over night.
