Alpine Shortening has some trans fats. Should I be worried?

Worried about what? Transfats, sugar and white flour are all terrible for you, especially in combination. I'm a bit of a health nut and that's why I only do special event cakes. Stuff you eat maybe once or twice a year. Eat that stuff regularly, you die much faster :lol::lol:

I was just reading all about high ratio shortenings and they are banned in CA. Lots of post on CC about how the trans fats are so bad for you and other bakers aren't using shortening with it anymore. Thank you for your help

Shortening WITH trans fat makes the best butter cream.   It was when Crisco took it out that all hell broke lose with crappy butter cream.    There's a lot more bad stuff in my cakes than the trans fat in the shortening! LOL
