If It's dry...I wouldn't mess with toughing up the edges. After decorating the center I would take my extruder and outline the eyes and outside maybe? The bottom edge doesn't look too rough...camouflage the top with feathers? What is your deco on this mask?
Hi,
I'm not too sure yet what Im doing with it, it was just a play about. I was thinking about piping some royal icing round the edges and eyes. Thought I could maybe cover the rough edges with that but I'm not sure! :)
Jenna...how are your painting skills? Diluting some gel color and free styling a design would look awesome..and be fun..if you are an artist.
I think your royal icing is a good idea. You can hide anything that way. After that dries, you can have fun painting it.
I used to use a dremel, which works very well, sandpaper or an emery board. Now I just try to make things so they don't need anything, but if you have a dremel and steady hands, that can work best.
But if you're going to add some gumpaste trim, then it's probably not necessary.
I have used an emery board! Haha, it looks so much smoother! I need some sand paper though for the bits that the board is too wide for. My painting skills are shocking so not sure what to do! I'll think of something.
Thanks everyone for your help :) x
