ASo I joined this forum to get some help on a cake I'm making and hopefully some more in the future. My cake mentor has now become much like a second mom to me. We met at a Wilton's cake decorating class and she was the instructor... Later we located eachother on fb and she helped me with a few cakes. Pretty soon we got closer and close and now she has become an amazing mentore and has helped me through more then anyone could imagen. She is the most wonderful lady. Well her 40th is coming and her husband wants me to make the cake for her surprise party. I want it to be amazing. It will be a peanutbutter fudge cake (her favorite). And I'm going to pipe 52 roses to cover the cake... Three roses high in fall colors the entire circumference of the cake. Then on top I will make fondont chickeans (she is known as the crazy chickean lady cause she loves her chickeans). So finally with my question... What rescipt do you use to make smooth elegant roses? I have used the Wilton royal icing but the closes store that sell M-powder is 1 hr away and it is such a finicky receipt... ILife decorating but frosting is my down fall.. I want a great stiff piping recipt that will make crisp stunning roses (people probably won't eat the roses so taist isn't too important)

I did find a recipt I love and made stunning flowers with but now I don't remember were I got it. So stiff butter creams, royal made with egg whites, I'm open to it all.
