Acan I do a buttercream fur effect on top of a fondant covered cake???? i made it on buttercream n it keeps sliding down!!!!
AHi, I was watching ace of cakes today and they used 'strings' of fondant as the fur and stuck it on top of fondant. Maybe use a pasta machine to get the tubes of fondant. What animal are you making?
Sounds like your buttercream is too soft or too warm. You can add more powder sugar if it's too soft. If it's too warm, try putting it in the fridge for a bit. Sometimes when doing something time consuming like fur, the heat from your hand can melt the buttercream too much.
Ahttp://marvelousmolds.com/impression-mats. If you're not too far along. They work great!
AThank you so much. Actually it turned out that my mousse was coming out of my dam and not letting my buttercream stay. I was pipping for a monster inc cake.
