AA house divided wedding...so of course, they want a house divided cake. 3 round tiers. Top 2 tiers are a split down the middle of the cake design of black houndstooth on the groom's half and orange with blue tiger stripes on the bride's half. The bottom tier is green with white lines and numbers like a field. I am making a football cake topper. My question is what should i use to cover the divide in the top 2 cakes? I thought about a red piece of fondant and a blue piece of fondant side by side but it just doesn't sound pretty. Nothing about this cake is "wedding-y" so I don't want to do swags, ruffels, or flowers. Any suggestions?

Being a Florida Gator, everything about this cake concerns me... ;-)

But what about a row of piped pearls along the divide, or tiny rosettes? they might be the only "bridal" things on the cake.  I like the way this cake does the opposite color on each side too.

i thing keeping it simple is necessary because it's just so busy everywhere else.

AI want to look at other cakes like this but what do you call this design? I was thinking a split wedding but I keep finding stuff about cakes breaking. :/

i would do an artful smear of both --just a meld--i'd show the seam as a marbled area--

let the houndstooth dissolve into the tiger stripe--the blue fade to black--stuff like that--i'd have fun with it--

maybe?
