I have a customer that wants a Bubble Guppies cake.  I tried to get her to go with one character to save her money and my time, but she said her daughter doesn't have a favorite.  :(  She originally wanted them all done in 3d fondant, but I told her it would probably end up being a fair deal extra since it is time consuming.  Now she wants 4 of the characters in a FBCT.  Do you charge extra for them?  They aren't as time consuming as sculpting, but they can still take a while, especially for 4.  I already feel like I undercharge at $1.50/Wilton party size slice.  Yet, I still charge more than a lot of the cottage bakers in my area.
BTW. I emailed Nickelodeon and I got permission to use their characters for the cake.

AGood to hear that Nickelodeon is allowing you to use it! The question I have is why you tried to talk her out of using all 4 guppies and go with just one, and also discouraged her from having them done in 3D? I would assume that she had a budget on how much to spend that maybe the two of you discussed and you were giving her some suggestions so she would stay within the budget. Value yourself and your talent! You already know you are undercharging. I cant wait to see pictures!

AThanks, I was surprised they did too. I was trying to get her to use one fondant cake topper since I knew she wasn't looking to pay what it would cost for me to make all of them. I wasn't trying to discourage her from the fondant toppers I was just trying to help her get a cake she wanted in her price range. I ended up offering her a royal icing transfer so that it could still stand up, and I never heard back. :/
