I've had great luck with edible images ...until tonight.
I printed some images to use as cupcake toppers. I stuck them on some fondant/gumpaste mix cut outs and let them dry overnight.
I didn't want to leave them sitting out so I placed a sheet of wax paper over them and slid them in a ziploc bag.
I believe they may have gotten a bit warm during the day and now the wax paper is sticking to the image and the images are breaking apart as I try to peel the wax paper off.
Is there a fix for this?
Would sticking them in the freezer for a few minutes help or should I trash them and start over?
Any help is appreciated .
Thanks!
I dont think it's warmth that may be your problem....I think it's putting them in the ziploc bag. Putting gumpaste in an airtight environment before it has dried causes it to become sticky and wilt. Maybe don't touch them at all....leave the bag open and let them dry and maybe they will eventually come off the wax paper? Hopefully you don't need them immediately! Good Luck!

This ^^^. Gumpaste + Airtight = Sticky cutouts
Thank you for your help!
Fortunately I have a few days before I need them so I will let them sit out and dry more before trying to remove more of the wax paper.
Another lesson learned.
Use silicone/baking paper to wrap edible images not greaseproof, it doesn't stick to them.
