I am considering taking the Wilton Master Class in Chicago.  Is it worth the time and price?  I currently own a wholesale bakery and we specialize in cookies.  For the past few years I have made cakes for special occasions for customers.  This cake business has started to grow and I would like to be more proficient at decorating so I can make more money :-)

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on the course and if it helped you improve at decorating.

Thanks!

Since no one else answered you, I thought I express my opinion.  I took all the Wilton basic courses way back when, but never the master classes.  They gave me a good foundation of basic skills.  (Looking back on those cakes now make me laugh- but at the time I was very impressed with myself!) I have found taking classes specific to what it is what I'd like to learn from the "pros" was very helpful and there are always many tips you also learn in these classes which generalize to other cake projects.  I also research techniques on line, watch tutorials and ask questions of more experienced bakers. Just seeing how much money these courses are, I think that I'd just spend it on classes that  focus on specific skills offered by various pros.

I hope that helps :)

AI did the Master's class a few years ago. Excellent use of time and money. I highly recommend it because not only do you get wonderful instructors, but 10 days with a group of like minded peers is also educational.

Thanks so much for you replies, I really appreciate it!  We were at the IBIE show in Las Vegas last weekend and I took a 2 hour class on writing from the Winbeckler's and it was great, in 2 hours I learned a lot.  So it made me realize that I would like to get more training.  So glad to hear the class is worth it, it seems like a tremendous value.

Thanks again for your responses :-)
