OK I'm from the south... of Canada and need help. An American who just moved here would like sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving. It's this weekend for us in Canada. I would really like to make this for her. I tried the Cook's illustrated sweet potato pie but it only used 1/4tsp nutmeg and just tasted like I was eating my sweet potatoes on a tart shell. So... what should a true southern sweet potato pie taste like... just sweet potatoes???? Ladies and Gents of the South I would appreciate any comments or recipes that tell me what it truly should be.
