Things I always keep:

small offset spatula

large offset spatula

med. paint brush

scissors

flower shears

3 straight pens

business cards

tub of buttercream

Piping bag & extra tips

small bottle of water (for smoothing)

bottle of water for me

Depending on the cake:

anything that I may need to touch up like pearls, flowers, etc.

Don't forget your turn table..I almost forgot mine when packing last month to do my son's in Florida.

Fondant mat

I see that cake has luster dust...don't forget the vodka.  You may want to bring extra to drink.

Start a list...I had one and everytime I thought of something I'd go add it.   Then on packing day, just checked it off.

Great idea! I've never assembled a cake on site, so my list wouldn't be much help

AThanks everyone! @deliciousdesserts, that's quite a trusty survival kit! @ ddaigle, never would have thought of the turntable!

I don't take a turntable since the cake is done...just has to be assembled.

However, in the bottom of my craft bag, there is a small turny thing like a turntable.  It was created to be able to spin the craft bag.  In a pinch, it works as a turntable.
