AAdorable cake, such a shame about all the background noise.

I've done a few with that look. I do edible images on gumpaste.

Thank you so much! So, the printable edible images...and then just apply it to gumpaste and cut it out? IT will dry hard, obviously, and be able to stand in its own?

Another example and the ACTUAL cake I am making...see the faces...how is that done? It just doesn't look like handpainting to me...

Thanks so much all!

The 2nd pic sure looks to me to be hand painted on gp or fondant.   Totally different work from the 1st pic.

AI really do think those faces are hand painted. You can even see the unevenness of some of the colors suggesting painting rather than edible image. Some of the lines my be edible food color marker as well.

Im just not sure I am good enough yet to handpaint those faces...do you think the edible image on gumpaste would work for this?

Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated!

All those examples are just gumpaste cut outs hand-painted, no reason you can't use an edible image though.

Certainly one could make a very close likeness using Edible Images rather than painting them.  Go for it :)
