AHello fellow cakers, My husband and I are in Chicago for the weekend so I'm looking for any recommendations for any 'must see' cake supply stores or any really good bakeries I should check out - you know for research ;)

We're staying downtown and plan to go out to oak park tomorrow to see the frank Lloyd wright neighbourhood.

There's a cake shop on 99th street but their Saturday hours are very limited and I can't tell you anything about their offerings because I've never been.

That's it, apart from Wilton out in the burbs but I don't know if they have a store you can just walk in to.

Chicago is very underserved for cake supplies sadly.

I can't say I know enough about bakeries in the area to point you to any, there are some of the famous cupcake chains in and around the Loop - Magnolia, Crumbs, Sprinkles etc.

Say hello to my old hometown for me and enjoy!
