AI'm just wanting to know how tall is the average decorated cake. How many layers of cake in one tier? Also, when filling how thick should it be?

AMy cakes are 4 -4 1/2" tall. I bake 2" cakes & torte them. That's a total of 4 layers.

I bake 2 cakes and torte each into 2 layers. My cakes end up with 3 layers of cake and ganache in between each one. Final cake is between 4" and 4.5" high. I smear the left over layer with ganache and hubby takes it to work.
