I have an idea for this cake and I want to run it buy you wonderful ladies. I am a long time lurker, usually finding answers in older posts, but I think I might need help.

I am making a chocolate cake with raspberry filling. The cake and filling part I have down, it is just the decorating.

I plan on rolling out some blue marshmallow fondant. I am going to take a small batch of light blue and white and roll them out into thin strings then place them over the dark blue fondant in lines and in swirls and then roll it out. Place it over the cake. I was going to make some stars and moons out of white chocolate and then use the Wilton silver cake spray and make them silver after they harden. About halfway through hardening I was going to stick toothpicks in the back of the chocolate so I can stick them in the side of the cake. I do not have any stars or moon templates, so I was going to use brown sugar. Put brown sugar in my brownie pan then carve and press down my own template. Apparently you can just wipe the sugar off after it hardens. Is there anything you would do differently, or from experience something that would be easier? Sorry this is so long.

AI've never used the wilton cake spray but I'd be concerned that it might not work on white chocolate. I would think it would bead up rather than coat the chocolate evenly but others may know more about it. I would think you could get the same look with fondant with an added hardener (even adding the sticks, etc) instead of the white chocolate. The spray should work better on that. You could just use cookie cutters to make the shapes out of fondant. Good luck!

I do not have star or moon cookie cutters, but I did not think about the spray beading up. Thanks!
