AHello, I'm making my first wedding cake soon and I was wondering how much fondant will I need to cover the 8", 10" and 12" cake. my cakes are between 3"-4" tall. I ususally make small cakes and buy small packages of fondant, so I don't know how much would I need for this cake. Any info would be most appreciated. Marta

AGo to a fondant website, and there are usually use charts that can help you figure it out. I use Satin Ice, and their chart is pretty generous. I decided to weigh out my fondant once, just to see how much I use, and about 1/3 of my fondant was leftover after covering the cake. But the charts can still help you figure it out until you get the feel for how much to use. Oh. And the Wilton chart tells you WAY too much.
