Get this effect?

How do you get this brown effect on the whole cake? Is it airbrush, or using a sponge? Thanks for the help!

It looks airbrushed. If you do not own an airbrush you can use the wilton sprays, you just have to be careful not to get to close when you spray the cake.

Thanks buddycarol, but is there a Wilton spray in that brown color?

I have the Duff airbrush, and the airbrush gun stopped working after 2 uses. I bought another gun, but that stopped working in the first use as well! Not sure what happened... :-/

Anyone please? If airbrush, which airbrush and color shades would you recommend? TIA!

To me,it looks like it was sprayed with ivory and then dusted with a charcoal dust.

You can purchase petal dust from most cake decorating websites and many retail stores.

If you don't have an airbrush, why not just color the fondant ivory and then dust with petal dust -whatever color you want?

Thanks brandisbaked! Dawnybird, I wasn't sure if I'd get the blotchy effect just with colored fondant and petal dust. Will try colored fondant and airbrush along with petal dust. Thanks so much!
