I was wondering if you could use the 5oz. Dixie cups to bake cake in. The ones I have are coated with, I think, wax. I have baked in the Starbucks cups but they are not coated with anything. The 5oz. is about the size I need but don't want to ruin my cakes.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

They do have a wax coating. I wouldn't do it...

AI guess you could always try it. What is the purpose of using the cups, if I may?

I wanted to make the cake look like coffee or tea. The cups had cute designs on them and when I bought them I didn't know they had wax on them. I did try one and the wax did come off on the outside and I'm sure on the inside so I will not be using them. Back to the drawing board.
