A friend of mine has asked me to make her baby shower cake, she's requested a belly cake, I've made several before BUT she's also requested that it be similar inside to a "better than *** chocolate cake". Basically she told me that you infuse the chocolate cake with caramel sauce, I've never made this type of cake before and have no idea the consistency. I'm concerned that the cake will be too soft to use in a fondant covered, carved cake. Wondering if anyone has tried something similar and how it worked out.
