  Do you know anywhere i can buy sweetex in san francisco? or anywhere close to the city? Thanks for your time!

Dawn Foods carries Sweetex and they have a location in San Francisco. Not sure about recipe changes and transfat issues in CA.

Restaurant Depot also has it.  GFS might even have it, or could order it for you.  Most proper cake supplies stores even have it.

AI've read that the Sweetex available in CA is the zero trans-fat version (CA bakers verify please) which may not have the same heat 'stable' characteristics as the regular Sweetex.
