ASo I will be heading into a local cupcake shop next week and bringing some examples of my work. I'm not sure what kind to bring. Should I bring a few flavours? Or just my best one? What about decorations? Classic flowers? Or should I try something novelty to show my creative side?

I don't exactly have time on my side, I am a stay at home mum and time is limited right now.

All suggestions welcome thankyou!

AAre they asking you to bring your recipes? Or are you just going for a decorator position? Or selling your actual cupcakes to them?

If they're hiring you as a decorator you should bring something that shows you can do what they normally sell, and something that shows your additional flair, they might not be interested in selling anything that is outside of their usual offering but having them see the possibility is what matters. If you have ideas for how they can expand their current product line they will most likely look on that favorably.

I don't think they would be looking to buy your recipes only your skills. So taste shouldn't be a factor. Make a half dozen cupcakes and decorate each one showing a different skill/style. You should be working on building a photographic portfolio so do things that you'll photograph and add to your portfolio.
