ASo I made some MMF earlier as added candy melts and Wilton "no-taste Red" but seemed to not have been enough because its still sort of pinkish. I really need a super red fondant for a firetruck cake without having to go buy some pre-made. Now it's just sitting on my fridge wondering what I'm going to do with it. Is there any way I can still make it the red I want?

AFor red, i either buy premade red fondant, or airbrush or paint white fondant red after applying it.

AThe red will develop more overnight but you may still need to add more color. If you can get to Hobby Lobby or a cake supply store go and get some Americolor red color, it's better than the Wilton. You could also pick up just a small pack of red fondant and mix the two together, the mmf will blend in to the red so that you don't need to add Colcolor.

I agree with the Americolor.  Get the "super red".  They also make "super black".  They are both super!  :D

AYou can also mix Americolor gel Super Red and Red Red. That should give you the color you are going for.

Even though the red will develop as time goes by, it will still not be enough. If I am going to need red, I buy it. Or I color it the night before, then once applied and dried, I airbrush it (couple of drops red, one drop black). However with that said, I always buy red, black, and chocolate. I only color in emergencies.

AmeriColor all the way!

I have added a little AmeriColor to MMF colored a pinky red with the Wilton and the AmeriColor covers the pink tinge.

I've tried many times to get a super duper red to no avail, still ends up pinky. Much easier to buy the pre-coloured stuff; yes, it's expensive saved my stress levels and time.

AAirbrush, for black or red. I won't do full coverage of black or red buttercreme, either. Yuck.

AI was going to edit but on my mobile I guess it's not an option.. But I was wanting to add, after I read the post title now I have the "painting the roses red" song from Alice in Wonderland stuck in my head. ;-)
