AIs there a standard sized cup cake, I never know whether to use large cup cake papers or the smaller standard ones or does it depend on the ocassion, I know to most of you this will seem a silly question but hopefully there is someone else with the same thought.
Oh yes, I have the same thought! Cupcake wrappers/baking cups/papers never seem to have a standard size. I like the size of the Multix large wrappers from the supermarket, but have no idea what size I'm buying when I look online.
And I'd also love to know what size cupcake people 'expect' when they're ordering one. Lots of cupcake papers seem very small to me. And some of the cardboard baking cups are huge!
AI have just been to my local cake decorating shop and they had about 4 different sizes so I asked the question. Now, the larger ones are for weddings because people expect to have cake slice sizes, the next size down I bought look like the sizes you see on youtube for demonstrations, these ones are metallic coloured, the lady said that these are ideal for kids and unlike the paper ones they dont go squishy underneath which is what I find with the multix and also they are deeper giving more cake. So it seems that if you have a decorating supplier near you then thats the way to go, I'm learning every day, isn't it fun!!
