I have been buying my cupcake liners at a local bakery, Amazon, or Global Sugar Art, but sometimes this is not very cost effective. Where do all you cupcake bakers buy your liners?

Any suggestions for bulk cupcake liners would be much appreciated!

Thank you! :)

mini cupcake thread.

Webrestraurant.com sells pkgs of 10,000 baking liners.  shipping is an issue.

I buy my cupcake liners from PaperMart.com (http://www.papermart.com/cupcake-baking-cups/id=34791-INDEX). I like that PaperMart allows me to be able to pick up on will call, so if I don't like what I ordered, I can return right there and then. I thought about buying liners from Webstaurantstore.com but they had so many sizes that I personally got confused... (also not a fan of the shipping costs)

The mini liners I get from papermart are bigger than the ones you typically find at michaels/joanns/etc. I've found that they fit best in this pan:

Not sure if this helps to see regarding the size differences but these are the "standard" and "mini" sized liners from Papermart.

Expanding my cupcake pan collection became troublesome when looking for baking papers to fit.  I learned that the measurements that were important were:

  • width of the base of the cup
  • height of the cup
  • and the overall length of the whole baking paper.

Once I had done those measurements the search got easier. The different brands of a 'mini' or 'standard' or 'jumbo' pan were all different!  pretty frustrating when your new to this, much easier now that I have properly measured each pan.

karess - are both the white and brown liners from Papermart?

Also, I love your frosting job on your cupcakes. I have been trying to achieve this and for some reason it never works. It seems like it should be so simple and yet I can't seem to do it, and yet I try something I would think would be harder and that is fine. Maybe I am making something simple too hard. ;/

sarahbakestudio - yes, both white and brown are from papermart. Papermart also sells unbleached ones too. I bought all three but personally like the brown ones the best.

brown: http://www.papermart.com/chocolate-brown-glassine-cupcake-baking-cups/id=38873#38873

white: http://www.papermart.com/white-cupcake-baking-cups/id=38705#38705

Also, thank you! It took me awhile to get it right but practice makes perfect. You'll get it down in no time! ;-D

Yay! I love Papermart's liners (glassine ones),cello bags and twist ties for cake pops! I should have mentioned earlier that I get my 809 tips from webstaurantstore.com . You can easily get them from any of your local cake supply stores but if you happen to buy anything from that website you should definitely add them onto your cart. They sell a lot products at great prices!

Hi Kara!

Do you bake for a living? I am trying to start a cupcake business! Really like your cupcakes and your attitude, you are sooo helpful! I was wondering what pans you use to bake your cupcakes and if your pan are baking your cupcakes evenly? Thank you in advance! Hope to hear from you

Karess!

What type of frosting is this? Can you send me recipe? I been doing a creme cheese frosting made with butter and creme cheese but it tends to melt very quickly when i try to deliver it to a party! But using butter and creme cheese makes the frosting taste very yummy! I know some people use shortening but it really does not taste good! What do you recommend? I am new to this, please advice! =(

HI Anna - Thank you! I bake part time and I am also a student part time so I wouldn't technically say I bake for a living, but I do sell my desserts (& yes, I am approved and legal). A lot of people here will probably tell you that you need to make sure that you are allowed to sell. Check if your state has any cottage laws. If so, there will be restrictions on what you can and can not sell. I won't go too much into it since there are many different posts on this site regarding this issue.

For mini cupcakes I use the pan I listed above. For regular cupcakes, I do not know what brand it is but it's just a pan that I believe is from Target (I'm guessing the brand is Kitchen Aid).Yes, my cupcakes bake evenly for the most part. You'll always get a couple once in awhile that go a little wonky, but that happens. I use a disher/cookie scoop when I add my batter to my pans so that helps with the even-ness.

I am no expert at this as well but I will try to help out as much as I can. I believe I did a peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla buttercream for the cupcakes in those pictures. I too am not someone who uses shortening but I think the problem you are having with the cream cheese buttercream is that you need more powdered sugar. I've found that cream cheese butttercream is very soft and needs A LOT of powdered sugar for it to be stiff enough to pipe like how I did.
