Chocolate Frosting

I am having the WORST time finding a chocolate frosting recipe that comes out the right color, the right flavor and the right consistency. I made some today that was perfect color and flavor, but it looked "grainy". PLEASE HELP!

What usually works for me is to take a vanilla frosting recipe that I already love, and then add some cooled, melted chocolate at the end.  No graininess and tastes fantastic!

I just make IMBC, and add some cocoa powder and melted chocolate at the end.

What brand of chocolate (to melt) do you prefer?

I make vanilla buttercream, take off what I need, then add cocoa and more milk.

Now that I make SMBC (not grainy at all!!), I make that and add cocoa at the end. Next time I'm going to try some cooled melted chocolate icon_smile.gif
