Batter up I love your bird, he's so life like.
Jenni, what a beautiful wedding cake. Grooms cakes are the hardest. Looks really good tho.
Six, I don't see anything wrong with the board. But you are so spot on with that logo.
Cute cakes!
Mustang Mollie- very nice and clean! I wish my second fondant cake looked as good.
Auntginn- adorable!
Six- great detailing
batterup- white peacocks are my favourite!
Jennisize-The chocolate wedding cake thrown together in a day, looks delicious.
Last night, all I managed to accomplish was cover my cake board I think it will make my cake look fantastic but I'm not giving myself very time to make the cake (considering how little time I have to work each night) I hope the cake looks half as good as the cake board, LOL.
Wow! So much happened while I was asleep last night!
Lescrumptious: I feel for your back! I have done "that" order far too many time when my son was in Cub Scouts! And, yes, the first time I did it I thought...oh yeah, no problem, easy peasy! I swear you see cupcakes in your dreams for two day after! LOL! Hope you get time to rest after the delivery!
MustangMollie: my guys would have LOVED that cake. They are comic book crazy so that would fit right in.
Ginn: I must have missed the pink leopard print description before so I had to laugh outloud when I saw your Minion cake! HA! He is great...my favorite part is the goggles...toooooo funny!
Cazza: enjoy your break. I have one as well now. I only had two orders for this month (Sept/October being my break months) and one of them just cancelled because her husband is whisking her away to Vegas for her 50th instead. I do get to keep the deposit since the cake was due NEXT SATURDAY so at least I'm not out money and hadn't even gone shopping for anything or made anything yet. I have a half a mind to make the cake anyways as a dummy cake! LOL!
BatterUp: SIGH..live and learn. From now on take your deposit so if they are going to have last moment desires to bail out then you get to keep the deposit at least. I love how your peacock is turning out. But then I love making birds for cakes! Can't wait to see how she turns out in the end...or is this a boy with the fanning tail feathers?
Jenni!!! OMG! Did you about die from a heart attack!?! I had that happen once and it wasn't nearly that big of an order! I'm amazed and very impressed you were able to pull it out in time! The wedding cake is beautiful. After my scare I started putting DAY and DATE on every order form! LOL! I love the under the sea cake too! My favorite parts are the scuba diver and the ray!
Well, we have two days of Baseball lined up. I'm going to try not to do too much other than that!LOL!

AuntGinn--I love your minion cake!
Batterup, wonderful job!
Here's a couple of pictures of the dinosaur cake I delivered this morning. It is not really a cake either, it's really a yeast bread covered in fondant. It is really hard to cover a cake in fondant that doesn't have any frosting on the outside. I couldn't use frosting because it has too much sugar for the child's dietary restrictions. I did get the okay to use fondant because it could be peeled off the cake. I wanted to do more with it, but I just didn't have enough time. It was a last minute dream cake for icing smiles. I don't feel like I lived up to the "dream" part of it. I was going to carve a dinosaur, but then quickly backed down from it, because I've only carved things out of pound cake, and this particular cake was for an egg-allergy child. I do like the cake though.

Tdove - it's great!!! I can't imagine trying to cover without ganache or bc underneath, wow, great job! I think it looks awesome and I'm sure the little boy was thrilled with his dream cake! :)
Oh Tdove, what an awesome dinosaur cake. I haven't done one in ages... everytime I see every one elses cakes I think, Oh I want to do that. Then I have to find a customer to let me. hahaha
Tdove! That is wonderful! I love that you made the plaque look like it's carved stone! I bet he's over the moon with it! I love icing smiles and am very proud to have been able to work with them in the past!

batterup- white peacocks are my favourite!
I didn't even know they existed in real life until after I started this! lol
Batterup- there are beautiful white ones that roam in the city I used to live in. Its a bit tricky for tourists because they congregate at a petting zoo, but you cannot pet them! Running away is a better idea, especially once they start chasing you. LOL.
I've known people that had the blue ones and they make good watchdogs! I looked up pictures of the white ones and they are gorgeous. I will post an updated pic tomorrow. I had to quit to finish up these cake stands so I can get them shipped. I love these 2 and want to keep them myself!! lol They are both 18". Things are going so well. Shipping out 2 on Mon then 3 later in the week...

Thanks! I brought the patchwork dinosaur cutter set about a year ago, and finally used them for this cake. Patchwork cutters and JEM cutters are my weakness.
tdove, your dinosaur cake is fantastic. I'll bet it was so wonderful for that little boy to have a 'proper' birthday cake that looked the real deal. I love it.

Thank you! Yes, he loved the cake and he kept hugging me over and over again, it was the best! I love Icing Smiles and it a wonderful experience. On the decorating side, it forces you to push yourself but at the same time you have a lot of artistic freedom. I know with more experience under my belt I'll become a better decorator, it's so hard not to be impatient with all the masterpieces I see here on cake central everyday.

Both are just lovely! Wow!
I am trying out these new metallic colors and I have to say wow! I especially like the aged copper (the bottom one).I can't wait to try some of the others...
Six you quack me up!!! "Kikiandkyle's posts are not sponsored by CakeSafe...or are they???"
I love the bronze one too!
...I would be terrified to visit anyone with a pet peacock on the loose. They weren't horrible at the petting zoo if you left them alone but so many confused tourists thought they were for petting!
I think I finally have my cake designed. That took forever. Only thing I'm not sure about is that its warmed up again...I'm obsessing about IMBC and I want to hand paint a cake. For now I think I should paint some fondant (with a touch of gumpaste) panels to attach last minute to a room temp cake on Monday. Not sure though about the corners though. They weren't pretty when I tried to make a phone booth cake topper and i did a similar method to make it.
Maybe I could make corners pieces to dry on a box...might make a lid too. I don't know. I think I'm over complicating things but I don't want another melting cake disaster. ...I still have no idea what I'm doing apparently, but I have all my artwork drawn out! LOL, that something I guess.
Ah Yes the teen years... Rosie you did a great job on the 1D cake.
Batter up I want to cry.. I love the new bases, but I will have to wait a bit. Just bought a new car and need to make a few cakes to buy more goodies. They are awesome.
A What I was working on. Finished and sent off today. Biggest cake yet with bigger coming soon. Loved doing it though!

You know where to find me when you are ready. I'm not going anywhere. I can't wait to see the cakes your are making for your new stand. I decided to display my peacock cake on the same stand.
I love all of the cakesafe tag line/ signature lines. I got my morning smile even before coffee this morning!
OK...ready for the tail, more painting on the bottom tier (I need an airbrush!). I have one more flower to add. Question...what should I use for bottom trim? I was thinking one of the molds pictured....I am only putting trim on the bottom tier to hide my uglies. Also for my packdrop should I stick with the silver, light pink or black? Those are what I have on hand
BatterUp: I've never needed a stand that big (I think the biggest I've used is a 14) but after seeing those I think I'd have to make a cake just to go with the stand! LOL! Simply gorgeous!
