I was wondering if I could use the SPS system with a Topsy Turvy Cake.  The cake is going to be a 10, 8 and 6, and will be just be angled at the top.  If I can use SPS, how would I go about doing this?  The cakes will be round.  

Also, what is the best way to attach the bottom tier to the cake base?  I usually use frosting, but I am starting to think it is not strong enough.

If you are angling the top of the tier, then carving out the circular "well" for the next tier, then SPS should work fine.

Do you have a cardboard circle under your tier?  If so, royal icing or melted candy topping works.

AThank you. Yes I use cardboard circles underneath my cakes. I think I will try melted candy. I have used that to hold on flowers and it works great. I have never tried a "well" but that seems like it will be the best option

For the sps do I use one size smaller than the tier? So a 8" for a 10" cake?

Your SPS should be the same size as your cake cardboard for the tier.  There is a "sticky" all about the system on the Cake Decorating section of this Forum.

Her tiers are quite angled.   Take a look at Pink Cake Box, she doesn't usually angle her edges, just slants the top of each tier.
