So after reading rave reviews about Fondarific on CC and everywhere else on the web, i decided to purchase the sample chocolate flavoured one. I HATED it!! I was sooo disappointed :(, I wasn't keen on the flavour, the texture was greasy and overall it was just not good!

Maybe i got a bad batch? But i don't know- I'm certainly put off buying any more.

Recently I purchased Satin Ice Gumpaste and I loved working with it! Now I've purchased the fondant, haven't worked with it yet but can't wait to try! What's your favourite fondant and do you use different ones for different uses ( one for covering cakes/one for decoration )?

I've heard that about Fondarific. I've never tried it. I like Satin Ice. Here's a comparison. You could also mix them. I've heard of people who add Wilton to their fondant, for figures. And also of people who make marshmallow fondant and mix it with commercial fondant to get the best of both worlds.

I also don't really like the texture of MMF either, but I do like the taste of it.

I use Satin Ice for my black, brown & hot pink.   I buy white Fondx and color it for everything else.

Fondarific is my favorite, too. Satin Ice is my least favorite...I can't tolerate the smell and the texture is weirdly spongey to me. I get all kinds of samples from entering cake shows. I've tried samples of FondX Elite, Pettinice, Choco-pan but none made that much of an impression. I mix Wilton with gumpaste for flowers and such, perfect for that.

Hmmm, maybe I should give it one more try.

I use fondarific antique white as my go to fondant.  I use the chocolate as well, just knead it alot to get it to the right texture.  I dislike fondx as I find it wayyyy too soft.  I dislike satin ice to cover cakes, as it dries out too quickly for me.  But I do buy satin ice for red and black.  HTH.
