Hello,

I am making a cake next weekend for a neighbor and I need to make some gumpaste flowers for the cake.  I think I have an idea of how I want to make them, however I am no expert so I thought I would ask all of you experts what you would do!

Here is a picture of the cake she wants...

Does anyone have any advice on what gumpaste cutter would work well for these flowers or what they would use for the center or any other ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

AI think any 5 petal cutter with the edges pinched in. I'd never do a black cake. It's awful to work with.

Be very very careful with attaching the flowers using little "glue" as that black fondant will run and smear!  Black fondant is something I hate working with also!!!!!!

sending link for making the centers like in the flowers. also a christmas rose cutter(wilton has one in the kit) would be a good cutter also.

AThank you so much for all the help and ideas!! Luckily she wants purple flowers instead of black so hopefully it won't be as annoying!! I hate black fondant too!
