I need ideas for a cake for a gardener. Not the type you actually gardens (flowers, veggies) but for a man who cuts lawns for a living. It is a small 9" round and a very limited budget so no gumpaste lawnmowervor anything like that. Please help!

ADoes it need to say anything? You could pipe grass with a grass head and do it shorter/leave it bare and paintbrush/colouring stipple in the form of the words you are doing/numbers of his age etc? Bit of of a difficult one without a model on it! I'm not sure this makes sense but I know what I mean in my head!

A[LIST] You could punch out a few blossoms to look like daisies/buttercups to break it up a bit?

Along the lines of CakeChemistry - you could pipe your grass but have a single dandelion weed (grass humor).

AI would probably make a rake and some hedge clippers out of fondant/gum paste. Even if it is more decoration than is technically required for what I charged I would find it easier to just make a quick couple of 3D tools like that than to try and come up with something else. :)

Thanks all! I think that by combining all the ideas given, I could make a great cake! Even making a simple rake and clippers, it's no big deal as they are simple to make and don't require too much time and materials.

Thanks again!

Thanks everyone for your ideas! Here is the finished cake. I was able to talk my customer into spending a few more $$ for the gumpaste decorations!
