New To This Site. Need Some Help!! Baby Shower Cake
Baking By MamaBakes26 Updated 27 Aug 2013 , 3:25am by Nadiaa
AI'm planning on making my own Baby shower cake. I know, I know its supposed to be a surprise but my fiance is hosting and I noticed he's overwhelmed so I said I would take care of the dessert table since I'm the one who's always cooking and baking at family events. I'm pretty new to baking but I'm getting the hang of it.
I'm looking to make a stackable 3 tier cake. I wanted to do a white vanilla cake. I'm looking to make it from scratch. I will also be using fondant to decorate it. My theme is little man and mustaches. Anyone have a great tasting "from scratch" White Cake recipe that can be used to stack and decorate with fondant? I'd really appreciate it! I wanted to try something different. Thanks in advance!
If you do a search for white cake recipe here at CC then heaps of things will pop up. I think FromScratchSF has a really good recipe for white cake.
Could you explain the mustache thing for me? I see it's some kind of trend at the moment but it has me kind of confuzzled Thanks!!
Have a look at this thread too. AppleGum Pam has given some great advice on stacking a cake:http://cakecentral.com/t/703875/is-it-my-fault-the-cake-collapsed/60 Her advice is about half way down.
AThank you so much! Yeah the mustache theme is kind of a new trend so I noticed for boy baby showers. It caught my eye BC I'm not into the trucks and boats or animal themes. I'm in the beauty industry and I thought it was cute. I also already call my 10 y/o son my little man and i started saying we have a new little man coming into our family. So it fell together for me. Its simple and can be matched with any color combo.
Makes sense :) Thanks for explaining!
I hope you find the info you need from doing a few searches. There are heaps of great threads on CC with heaps of detailed information.
