Hello Can anyone help! I want to create water effect on a cake using isomalt for a penguin iceberg cake, and wondered if i could pour this directly onto the fondant? I've used piping gel to make water effectively before but wanted to try this medium to look more realistic! Hope someone can help Thank you x

I think the isomalt would melt the cake!! I did see a great technique on YouTube the other day though. I was watching an episode of Fabulous Cakes and this decorator used blue isomalt and poured it over ice! Take a look from 38 seconds into the video and it shows what she did. Hope that gives you some ideas!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4aGATamalA

I have made water using just sugar.  You could also do Jolly Ranchers.

Sorry but what are 'Jolly Ranchers' x

I think jolly ranchers are a hard candy you can melt down to liquid sugar. I'm not totally sure though because I'm in Australia and we don't have them here.
