Just trying to find somewhere i can do a traineeship or apprenticeship for cake decorating in brisbane queensland. I love cake decorating and would like to get up alot more experience and create some scrumptious goodies but having trouble finding someone to help me out or give me some pointers without it costing me into the hundreds of dollars. No local decorators or even decorators in the family will help me out which is a pain in the ass but i get its what people do. So my father gave me the idea of seeing if there are any jopbs i can do where i can learn all these things.

April you could join your local cake decorating association and you will learn heaps for free.

I know you said you don't want to go into the hundreds, but the ABC Cake Decorating course at TAFE looks very good. I am hoping to do it this October.

April there is also a group at the Sunshine Coast.  I was going to go to a meeting last time I was over visiting my Mum and Dad but unfortunately it was their annual general meeting that month and I didn't want to go to that.

Sorry don't have them any more.  What I did was to look up the Queensland Cake Decorating Association, got a phone number and rang it.  That took me to the Brisbane office (I think) and then they passed on another phone number which I rang.  There I talked to a lady who gave me instructions on where they met, which was about 20 minutes from Alexandra Headlands, where I was staying.  Not much use to you but it gives you an idea of how close it is to Bribie Island.  I would suggest that you PM Chelle as she can probably get a number and name for you to contact.  I just work the phones when I am in an area for a while.
