Hi everyone,

I have started to create (or attempt) to create the button decorations for my daughter's birthday cake. I tried to recreate the pink that is shown on this pic but it turned out really orange looking and not pink like the box or close to the picture. Any advice on what colors to use to get recreate the colors on this cake. I also included a pic of the box of coloring I used. Thanks!

AI have that coloring, but I have only used it for buttercream. It is a very bright pink, though. I think some of the fondant experts would know, but I am guessing they will ask for two things: your fondant recipe, and possibly a pic of it after it was colored. Sometimes colors get more intense after they sit, too. I made red bc last month. It was a weird coral color when I crumb coated( right after I colored it) and in the morning a deep red.

I made the cute as a button cake you are trying to re-create, that is my cake. For the hot pink I used Satin Ice's pink fondant. For the ruffle border I used Wilton's Rose gel food color. Rose will also dye white fondant hot pink.
