APlease can anyone suggest a good way to make a hat box lid. The cake is a 10" round x 4". Many Thanks Doreen
AHi many thanks - I had seen this tutorial but wanted to make it in fondant - sorry I should have specified.
AOr this way, but with a round. It's about half way down the page

Or you can take a cookie sheet sprinkled with powdered sugar, place some rolled fondant down and a cardboard cake circle on top-cut around to shape a circle that's the same size of your cake. Let it sit for a few or stick in the fridge for a couple minutes (this prevents the fondant from stretching and changing shape) place on top of your cake. Then cut a strip the circumference of your cake, roll that up, pick up and unroll on the cake by the top to form the rest of your lid.
There's a couple other ways but these are probably the easiest.

This is for a fondant overlay, same thing, just don't cut at a wavy angle.
