Hi to everyone...

Im looking for some thought in regards to a 4 tier square buttercream cake that I have coming up. Its a big party cake. For tier sizes Im looking at a 14 12 8 6. Im wondering about the 4in difference in the middle of the cake between the 12 and 8, any thoughts about one of the tiers being 4in diff with all the others being 2in diff? Im a little unsure of this at the moment and could just use someone else's input.

Thanks

AHow many servings do you need? Set them up with cake dummies and see if you like the look for your design. There are other ways you can achieve the servings without going this route but it depends on style, what the customer wants, etc

I have set up the pans to get a better idea of what they look like as a whole. Its for a anniv party, and we need aprox 180 servings but my cousin would like a bit left over so we went with a bit of extra cake, this will serve aprox 200 servings according to Wiltons chart.

AI got a few more servings on my chart. You can do whatever you want, you can play with tier sizes (extended tiers or double barrel), mix and match shapes, or stick with your original plan.

You might have a smaller guess count closer to the event, not everyone will come-if you prefer stacking in order (4,6,8,10..,) sub cupcakes for extra servings add a 4"
