AI've been looking at stand mixers and I don't know what to purchase. The Kitchen Aid mixer would be prime, but it's not in my budget. I bake at home, I don't sell my baked goods. I don't usually make large quantities of anything BUT I bake anything and everything so I need a mixer with multiple attachments. Any suggestions?

AMy less expensive stand mixer is the Bettef Homes and Gardens 4.5 Qt I purchased it for about $100 more like $130 now (I think). It has a dough hook, whisk, and paddle attachment. Also a bowl and shield guard. It's a great little mixer for the price! One thing to watch is the screw in the head where you push the whisk in, I'd tighten that. The first time I used it, it came out in the bottom of my cake pan! It was a test cake for my family but still whew, after I tightened it I've had no further problems.

The Kitchen Aid 4.5 Qt. is on sale under $200 right now I'd spring for that.

It just depends on how much baking you'll be doing and how serious you are about it. Look around, read reviews, and check prices.

AThank you. I'm not baking every day, but I do bake a lot more than the average person. My arm is tired of hand mixing and holding a mixer. Ha ha.

I bought the Kenmore 5qt mixer when it was on sale at sears. Just as good as the kitchen aid at a better price. Ill soon be buying a second one. Hopefully they'll have the purple one in stock this time!
