Im making my nieces 18th birthday cake and its a red velvet with white choc cream cheese frosting. I was thinking of doing a petal cake but not sure that it will work with the cream cheese frosting. Any other suggestions on how to decorate it? Thanks in Advance. :-)

Ahow about swirls? like take you serated knife and make swirls at the of the cake. at the top use tempered chocolate and take the chocolate, spread it thinly on a wax paper. then curl the wax paper and to make stay curled put it in a glass. leave it for a few seconds and remove it from the glass and unfurl carefully. once out chip the chocolate shavings and spread it on the top of the cake. if you want you could write something on it depending on the theme then use the shavings around it :) hope I helped :)

well, cream cheese icing lends itself well to the "messy icing" like in my profile pic. and if you add more p.sugar it will be stiffer and allow you to make petals. i'm sure if you use the search someone will have a recipe for sturdy cream cheese icing. https://www.google.com/search?q=realistic+white+roses&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=2qQRUuz5LMbK2AWi-4HQAQ&ved=0CEEQsAQ&biw=1684&bih=769#bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&fp=6cb7212e425046eb&q=bunting+on+cake&sa=1&tbm=isch&facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=L0elEPQVYdUelM%3A%3BG6uB8ail9NjHJM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwedzu.com%252Fsystem%252Fproduct_images%252F12047%252Foriginal%252F20110321_039.jpg%253F1303666783%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwedzu.com%252Fproducts%252Fcustom-cake-bunting-garland-topper%3B433%3B650

and you could always do ruffles.

I love the bunting, it's such a cute little detail.

Aright but the decoration need to be with cream cheese, cuz in my opinion I think it would much easier with normal white chocolate? I understand since I've used cream cheese frosting before
