Hello, I am making a chocolate cake for someone in my family's birthday at very short notice.  They want a chocolate cake covered in chocolate.  I would like to use a chocolate type fondant covering but have no time to go out and get anything.  If I mixed white sugarpaste with some modelling chocolate would that do the job?

Many thanks

That would be fine.  The sugar paste will give you the firmness and the modeling chocolate will give you the taste.

Thank you.  I have done that and it is perfect.  I have bought some good quality modelling chocolate to make roses and various other things, do I need to add anything to it before I start to strengthen it etc, I have only modelled in fondant/gumpaste before.

Thanks
