I bought a bucket of satin ice white buttercream flavor fondant, but why is it too sticky and way too soft?!
So soft that I can decorate with it, does anybody knows what's wrong and how can I fix it? I never had this problem before
I have that problem with the black SI I have. If it's white just wok a little powdered sugar into it
Sorry I meant so say "so soft that I can't decorate with it"
Thank you batterupcuke Im gonna try that I hope it works cause I need to decorate a wedding cake
Cornstarch also works, and it hardens the fondant up faster than the sugar will so you won't need to add as much.
It taste about the same, when I'm working with my home made MMF I use corn starch if its too sticky and add water a few drops at a time if its too dry, all that powdered sugar is made of fine sugar mixed with cornstarch that is what it says on the bag anyway, to me it helps cut back on some of the sweet, and to me powdered sugar can be stickie sometimes..
I'm a corn starch fiend, and am always kneading that into my MFF. Just have to use your judgment about when to stop, or you'll dry it out too much.
Thank you ladies I knew I could count on all of you I will try both I will report how it goes
APowdered sugar is sugar and corn starch, so it won't affect anything other than how dry it is. Sugar attracts moisture to it, so adding powdered sugar doesn't work as fast to dry things out as adding straight corn starch.
