I have a request for an asian themed cake and I am at a loss as to what to do. Thanks!!!

So many ideas come into mind..

if you need to make a sheet cake you can copy one of those great Japanse Wall hangings or turn it into a Kimono...

Turn the 3-D teddy bear into a pair of Chinese guard dogs or a fat bellied buddah...

If you just want to do flowers, you can use the chrisanthymum or lotus flower to decorate the cake.

You can make the cake look like a lotus leaf with the Lotus blossom

So many ideas come into mind..you can do a round cake as an Asian coin...

a red lantern...

color it green and make it a green jade carving...or cut it 1/2 and make an oriental fan....

there was a great Chinese Dragon in one of the Wilton books and the border was made with a round tip with hesitations that made it look like bamboo...

or you can use the 3-D teddy bear and make it a Panda Bear....

Elephants sound glorious, you can make a small tiered cake and if you can make them out of MMF or Fondant you can use them between the cakes and have the trunks..."supporting" the top tiers!

Hummmm...Maybe this ASIAN them is just the thing I was looking for for the cake competition at school..lol

The cake is for a 13 year olds brithday pary. They are doing the whole theme. Thank you all for the ideas!!! I think that I will do something with the panda...not for sure, but probably. Thanks for your ideas!
