Yes...I am setting up my website to accept credit cards and once I get a few more made I will probably try Etsy. Thank you so much for the compliments on Tink. I love her and really wanted to do this cake for my granddaughter's birthday but my daughter has her heart set on a Sweetopolita cake. I was so excited when I got this order.

I would love one of your caking stands when you have them ready! Do you know what you will be charging?

Batterup that stand is GORGEOUS! Etsy is a great place to sell I have two shops you will love it and its cheap to sell.

Everyone else you did amazing jobs on your cakes. I am not computer savvy enough to go back and quote everyone but they all were super.

I especially like Princess Leia. I think she was awesome.

I'm in the process of a cake due on Monday so I thought I'd take a break and share. I ended up having to do everything by hand because I couldn't order the molds in time. It was ordered only a week in advance. So I'm happy with my shells but the perfectionist in me would have liked the molds.

Wow...you did those by hand??? I am so grateful that the areas best cake supply store is 5 minutes from my front door....also a curse because when I get bored, where do I go??? lol. I love how you did your seaweed. When I was doing my cattails I had nothing but problems. I wanted them really thin but I wanted a wire in them. I used the wilton mat that puts a ridge in the back to fold over the wire...but they were so thin it wouldn't leave a ridge. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I think Princess Leia looks fine....except she is a giant! Actually she was perfect. Luke was just too tiny. I am not good at figures so she looks great to me.

As for the cake stand I already have 4 more for sure orders. Others have said they want them but since they haven't asked what they would cost I am assuming they weren't 100% serious. But from the feedback I am getting I am really confident. My only problem may be can my woodworker keep up? I really don't want to find someone else because he allows me to keep my costs below Sara's and does an excellent job. This is going to be a learning experience but I am so excited. I found an all natural food grade paint "Old Fashioned Milk Paint" I am going to try...but it add more work because it has to be strained. Here I am rambling! I have to thank DeliciousDesserts and AZ Couture. They sent me along this path.

Beautiful! I like them better than molds...molds make everything identical and that is simply not the case in nature thumbs_up.gif.

Oh my... I am so......... tired.  But I am one satisfied gma.  All of you made such pretty cakes.  Caillou, Star Wars, Baby Showers and Tinks.

And here is mine.  It was so much fun to make.  Not as hard as I thought.  The ball shape worked out well.  Do we go over the top on our parties?  YES YES YES!!!  All the stuff I made was just for the kids.  We have such a large family we don't need to invite friends and neighbor to have a crowd.  (but we do anyway)  Our model, the more the merrier. lol

Ok, I'll stop rattling.

At the party I put along side a Sully figure which the baby just loved.

Hi, I'm Cat, I'm a cake stand addict (holding up my hand HIGH)...please do let us know when you get that shop set up! LOL!

SmittyDitty...love your shells. I actually don't like molds and love the way the shells turn out when you hand mold them yourself...I think they turn out looking much more natural. I'm an ocean freak, a true beach baby, and I think your shells look amazing! Especially love the sea urchin!

Hi Everyone,

Such beautiful cakes in here , makes me wish I had done one this week. I love all the stories that go with them , it makes them all  , more special somehow.

No cakes for me this week, I did make roses for another decorator and I did teach this morning , I did fancy cupcakes, showing several techniques of covering with fondant , stencilling with royal etc.  it allows for a gentle introduction into piping and fondant and they have something to take home with them.

I am teaching Peonies to my Wednesday class this week which is great as I have a cake I want to put a peony on coming up.

Well I am a tired little decorator that is too tired to cook so I am off to find a suitable take away I can feed a little old diabetic.

Happy Caking

Chelle

Chelle - do you do classes from your home cake studio or somewhere in commercial premises? How big are your classes? I'd love to teach again, there are remarkably few GOOD teachers in my area, and I miss teaching a lot.

I had one lovely wedding cake this weekend. I really enjoy the weeks when I have only one wedding, and I can spend more time fiddling with it. I was really happy with how it turned out, despite it not being one of my usual tier shapes - It was a 7"/9"/11" and only 3.25" tall tiers, something the bride was adamant about. I really liked how it turned out. May have to post it in the galleries, for a change!

Evoir, I teach from my home , I don't like more than  five students in a class ( three is perfect in my opinion )as I find I can't give them the quality of instruction   and time they need.  I do workshops for our Branch as well where I can have  15 or more students( I donate my time for those and the branch receives a nominal fee from members) , although I usually have help if I have that many. These are held at a Cafe that one of our members owns ( after hours ) or at a private home ( we try to rotate the venue )

It means also that I can limit the amount of cakes I take on and I find I do enjoy doing the cakes I do.

OK..everyone who seriously wants one please PM me with a design, size and color...the other design will be similar to this in design http://shop.sarahsstands.com/products/picture-perfect-white-wedding I am doing my best to beat her prices. Her 14" natural wood stand is $195. I sold this one for $150. I have some wood that is 13" rounds already if anyone would be interested in those...they are paint grade wood....

Ginn! He is SOOOOO cute! If you took photos from the party I would love to see them too. You can pm me here if you have any and I can give you my email address. SOOOOO love him!

Evoir...well, we LOVE to see photos here so be sure to post it here too if you do decide to do so.

Chelle, as usual, even without a cake this week you manage to keep mighty busy there! LOL! I keep thinking about teaching and just never quite make it to getting my act together. Maybe this Fall....

BatterUp, I would LOVE to own one but with Disneyland in our near future every dime I make is going for that. After the New Year, however, I will definitely want one. Can you make square ones? My favorite shape.

I have him making 2 square ones this week. I just left there and he said he is in the middle of a big job and can't produce at the rate that I need him to! But He can get out 2 a week or so...... So what does everyone think of this design for a 16" stand? I want to make it tall, any suggestions on how tall would be good? Or should I just go average height. The top would match the blonde wood on the bottom or could match the stem.... I want to get it down to 2 standard designs

Awe.. Cat, thank you.  I personally only took pics of my grandbabies with me and some with my parents.  But knowing my daughter, I'm sure she did.  I'll try and pull some from her.  What exactly are you looking for in the pics so I can search for that?

Any chances you will make smaller ones? I typically only bake for family and friends and a small but beautiful stand like this would be perfect.

Thank you! This I think is my best cake so far. I am really proud of myself for once I got the sides straight in buttercream without ganache! I still had some issues with the edge on top, but its WAY better than the last cake I did in BC.  The icing rocked though. It was like smoothing ganache so I have to give credit to the recipe creator of Buttercream Dream. In a few days when my ego is down(lol) I'll put it up for review. This is the first cake I have ever felt like this about. It makes me feel like my passion is going in the right direction. Sorry I'm rambling..its the Dr. Pepper.
